A high-floor apartment in the heart of Monte Carlo, suspended between the city and the Mediterranean, where the horizon enters the home and becomes part of the design. Our approach sought a balance between warmth and rigour: a restrained, light-filled interior conceived to give space to light, materials and the view across the Principality.
The space is organised around a single, continuous living area that brings together lounge, dining and breakfast nook, while preserving the identity of each function. The structural columns are clad and integrated into the design, so they become quiet points of reference. A generous dining table and the backlit shelving give the room its rhythm with discretion. Openings onto the terrace draw the eye towards the sea and the outline of the Riviera, connecting the interior to the landscape beyond.
The material palette is tuned to the tones of earth and stone. Natural oak dresses floors, panelling and bespoke joinery, and serves as the common thread from room to room. Natural stone takes centre stage. Travertine gives the master bathrooms a soft, enveloping materiality. A dramatically veined quartzite turns the shower into an almost painterly surface. In the kitchen, a deep red marble brings intensity and warmth to the worktop. Bronze-tinted glass on the walk-in wardrobes adds depth and reflection, while bouclé fabrics and neutral-toned rugs complete the whole with a tactile, almost tailored quality.
We treated light as a design material in its own right. Perimeter cove lighting outlines the ceilings and lightens their volume. Linear cuts emphasise planes and niches, while sculptural decorative fixtures punctuate the space. By day, the apartment opens up to the natural light of the sea. In the evening, indirect lighting brings out the textures and creates an intimate atmosphere, in dialogue with the lights of the city below.
The sleeping quarters follow the same principle of continuity. Each suite is a complete, private system of bedroom, walk-through wardrobe and en-suite bathroom, with bespoke furniture and storage blending seamlessly into the architecture.
The result is a contemporary residence with a distinctly Monegasque soul. Here, elegance comes from restraint, quality shows in the detail, and the Mediterranean remains the true protagonist.
