High above Monte Carlo, a residence that overlooks the Principality and opens onto the Mediterranean along a single, uninterrupted terrace. The project brings together two souls: the classical elegance of the architecture, with walls framed by mouldings and panelling, and a contemporary bespoke interior that is essential and deeply material.
The transition between spaces is marked by a portal in vein-cut silver travertine, which frames the living area like a sculptural threshold. Beyond it unfolds a bright, linear living space, where dining and conversation follow one another along the axis of the view. A wall unit in a light, honey-toned wood houses shelving, open niches and storage with softly rounded profiles. The black glass dining table and enveloping seating in natural tones complete the composition.
Material research lies at the heart of the project. Classic travertine clads the bathrooms entirely: walls, showers and monolithic basins carved from the solid stone, in a single continuous material with a strong tactile presence. In the kitchen, silver travertine returns as a backdrop to the worktop, while walnut base units and pale lacquered wall cabinets strike a careful balance between warmth and light. The contrast between light and dark woods runs throughout the home and sets its rhythm.
In the sleeping quarters, full-height wardrobes become architecture. Their doors are articulated by slender timber frames, the upholstered headboard is built into the system, and the bespoke bedside tables are designed in continuity with the whole. Each bedroom is a calm, intimate retreat, opened to the landscape through generous glazing.
Light accompanies the project with discretion. Perimeter coves outline the ceilings, linear tracks pick out surfaces and details, and wall sconces warm the evening atmosphere.
The result is a home where the tradition of Monegasque living meets the precision of bespoke furnishing: every element is conceived for its space, crafted to last and tailored to those who live there.
